Frequently Asked QuestionsLast updated: September 3rd, 2004

1) I'm on Windows 9x/2000/XP. When I click on a file, a window pops up and nothing happens, or I get an error message.

2) I'm on a dial-up connection and I can't hear the audio; the play bar comes up but there is no sound.

3) I have the QuickTime plugin, however when I try to access the audio files, nothing happens.

Solution:

The Apple Quicktime plugin is REQUIRED for playing the audio files. Download it from here, and install the program. After it is installed refresh the page and click on the audio file again.

Or click the image.

Solution:

Make sure that you are clicking the "Listen" link for Dial Up connections. If your dial up connection is less than 30 kbps you may still experience some problems. In that case , we suggest you listen to the files in the Multimedia Language Center or have analog audio cassette copies made of the audio tapes. Instructions on tape copying procedures can be found at: http://www.mlc.uconn.edu/Procedures/procedures.html#cassettes

Solution:

If you have QuickTime and the audio is still not working, please upgrade to the newest version of QuickTime (version 6).
Click here to download QuickTime 6.
